Modernised Customs Code Recast Published by EU Commission

The European Commission on 20 February 2012 proposed a recast of the Regulation establishing the Modernised Customs Code (MCC). 

This Regulation was adopted and entered into law in 2008 but has not yet been applied pending the introduction of implementing regulations. The recast will, as regards customs legislation, provide the same benefits as those already contained in the 2008 version, while aligning it to the provisions of the Lisbon Treaty.
